Program Specifics

An explanation

The second component of the entire PADI Tec Deep Diver program is the PADI Tec 45 course. Your depth limit will be increased to 45 meters (145 feet), and you will learn how to use a single stage/decompression cylinder to plan and perform repeated decompression dives. You are placed in a full tec diving rig, which can be sidemount or backmount. Additionally, you will perform accelerated decompression dives with pure oxygen or EANx. You will take on the challenge and dedicate yourself to become a technical diver in this course.

In order to sign up for Tec 45, you need to:

• Be a diver with PADI Tec 40.
• Become a Rescue Diver with PADI
• Have at least 50 dives under your belt, 12 of which must be on enriched air nitrox and deeper than 18 meters or 60 feet, and 6 of which must be deeper than 30
• 100 feet or meters
• Be at least eighteen years old.
• possess a signed medical statement from a doctor within the previous 12 months.

Ask your Tec Deep Instructor about any applicable qualifying certificates from other diver training organizations.

Scholarly

Three knowledge-building modules, three hands-on application sessions, and four open-water dives make up your Tec 45 training. You concentrate on the operation, upkeep, and related problems of tec diving equipment, building on the knowledge you gained from the Tec 40 course. You keep calculating faster decompression stops and optimizing gas planning. You also develop your technical diver’s mindset.

Tools

You can use a technical sidemount setup or complete technical equipment, which includes wings, doubles, and an extra deco cylinder. The equipment needed for your tec diving excursions will be described by your PADI Tec Deep Instructor.
