An explanation
Many scuba divers are interested in enriched air and gas blends, as seen by the growing number of technical divers and the popularity of the PADI Enriched Air Diver course. You can learn how to blend enriched air nitrox and helium-blend gases using one or more blending techniques in the Tec Gas Blender course. At a busy dive center or resort, being the blender is an essential duty that lets other divers do what they love best—scuba diving.
You can sign up for a Tec Gas Blender course if you are at least eighteen years old and a PADI Enriched Air Diver.
Ask your Tec Gas Blender Instructor about any applicable qualifying certificates from other diver training organizations.
Scholarly
There are three hands-on application sessions in the Tec Gas Blender course, but no dives. You discover during your individual research and instructor-led review:
- regarding the benefits and drawbacks of various blending techniques.
- to combine trimix blends and enriched air until they are within 1% of the desired combination.
- regarding the possible risks associated with handling oxygen and how to mitigate them.
- to illustrate the procedures for cleaning oxygen equipment and the prerequisites for oxygen delivery.
